Life of Joy comes on the scene at a time when depression and anxiety
are ravaging society. According to the National Institute of
Mental
Health, 18.1 percent of American adults suffer from some form of an
anxiety disorder in a given year. According to the World Health
Organization, major depression is the forth largest disability in the
world. The truth of Ephesians 2:12 is becoming very real.
Those who
are without God in the world have no hope. And people are seeking answers. Many Christian women are turning to antidepressants, outward beauty, riches, and even ministry to find happiness—instead of seeking their joy in God. Our culture has set a disappointing standard for happiness, causing women to doubt that steadfast joy is even possible. Women need to know how to find lasting, unwavering, and inexpressible gladness that is not dependant on accomplishments or circumstances. Many books on the market express that women need to find their hope in God, but this book is unique because it show a woman how. . Katie Hoffman explains lasting joy can be found, but only in Christ. Though temporal joy is fleeting, joy from God is eternal, indescribable, and full of glory. With stories from her own life, the author relates to women at every stage so they might come to know happiness in Jesus that has nothing to do with how things seem to be going. With twenty-two specific Biblical ways to obtain gladness, including prayer, fellowship, generosity, holiness and knowing God’s Word, and while covering many of the foundations of the Christian faith—it’s a book for for gift giving, personal use, and group Bible study. Over half of this book is devoted to twenty-two specific ways the Bibles says joy can be obtained. Included in the count are such things as prayer, encouraging others, and generosity. This book also warns women of the pitfalls that will cause gladness to plummet, including pride, discontentment, and unbelief. This book seeks to show women that by having hope in God and by seeking Him in obedience, they can be freed from the bondage of anxiety, depression, and frustration. This book is written for women of all ages. For more infomation, or to order, please Click Here. |
