| Doctrinal Statement What We Believe: Inspiration of the Bible--The Bible, with 39 book in the Old Testament and 27 books in the New Testament, was inspired by the Holy Spirit (God-breathed) and is the only infallible, inerrant (in the original translations, which God has preserved), authoritive Word of God. The Trinity--There is one God eternally existent in three persons--The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. These three are One. Jesus the Messiah--We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return to power and glory. He is both 100% fully God and 100% fully man. Man--Through Adam, sin and death have passed upon all people. Man is now both lost and dead in sin, for all have sinned (Rom 3:10-12, 23). Salvation--Man is not able to redeem himself. It is a work only God can do. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for salvation. Through the Holy Spirit, God draws a person to Himself, imputes righteousness to him by faith in Jesus Christ, seals him for salvation, and enables the Christian to live a godly life.. Christian Living--Only a person who has been regerated by the Holy Spirit can do good works, as God has both prepared the good works for the believer to walk in and He enables them to do the good work. Apart from faith, good works only bury a person (who does not recieve the righteousness of Christ) more in debt against God (Rom.4:4). All believers, regardless of race, country, gender, or status, are united as one in the body of Christ. Future Judgment--There will be a bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost-- the saved to the resurrection of life and the lost to the resurrection of damnation. |
